08/04/2015 » Dealer Demo Sant'Omero

08/04/2015

Proel hosted a demonstration of its Axiom professional loudspeaker systems at the company's headquarters and manufacturing facility on March 26th in Sant'Omero. Around 50 Italian dealers from various regions of the country attended and were treated to an outside demo of medium scale and small scale Axiom line array systems amid pleasantly warm late March weather conditions. To begin, Proel's area sales manager Rocco Camerlengo demonstrated the capabilities of a typical small indoor / outdoor sound reinforcement system made up of four dual 6.5-inch plus 1.4-inch AX2065 elements flown per side and a single ground stacked SW215A double 15-inch subwoofer per side. Four out of the total eight loudspeakers were AX2065A active units, which have sufficient amplifier power to drive the remaining four passive AX2065P loudspeakers. This configuration provides very efficient use of available amplifier power and cabling. The powered AX2065A with onboard Class D amplifier module delivers 129 dB peak SPL over a horizontal coverage angle of 110 degrees from a very compact enclosure weighing only 22.5 kg. For easy transportation road-ready flight cases are available to house four passive or powered models with or without flybars.

Following that, a flown line array system of four AX2010 elements per side was put through its paces with two ground stacked double 18-inch SW218P horn-loaded subwoofers positioned in the centre. An Axiom line array system of this size will comfortably cater for an audience of up to 1000 people with peak SPL of 138 dB at 1 metre and a horizontal coverage angle of 110 degrees. The AX2010P consists of two 10-inch woofers and two 1.4-inch high frequency compression drivers arranged symmetrically in a WTW cabinet configuration, designed for a wide range of sound reinforcement applications with only type of enclosure.

"We are experiencing a high level of interest in Axiom amongst rental companies and installers," says Camerlengo, "so much so that we are working overtime to deliver shipments from the factory. It is good to see such a good turnout for this demo day and we'll certainly be repeating this kind of event throughout the spring and summer season, as it allows customers to hear our systems and observe the rigging procedures under real conditions."
