29/10/2015 » Axiom Makes a Splash at Prolight+Sound Shanghai

29/10/2015

The Prolight+Sound Shanghai 2015 trade show attracted over 500 companies and brands, and over 23,000 visitors, to the Shanghai New International Expo Centre this year, providing an opportunity to showcase the best in pro audio technology, and consolidating its position as the premier exhibition event in the Asian region.
Proel took the opportunity to present its latest innovative products from its Axiom professional loudspeaker range, together with Chinese distributor Phoenix Audio, on its 78 sq metre booth W5E12. Axiom 2 x 6.5-inch passive AX2065P and 2 x 6.5-inch active AX2065A loudspeakers were on display together with the complementary double 15-inch SW215A active subwoofer. Stage monitors were represented in the form of the powered 15-inch CX15A wedge monitor, and the ultra compact 2 x 3.5-inch passive ED23P demonstrated its capabilities as a low profile stage lip loudspeaker.

Proel participated in a product demonstration at the Concert Sound Arena, where manufacturers were invited to demonstrate their loudspeaker systems under controlled conditions in 10-minute slots, three times a day throughout the show. Technical sales support engineer Daniele Massaccesi demonstrated a stereo Axiom configuration consisting of seven AX2010A 2 x 10-inch active line array elements and four SW218A double 18-inch active subwoofers each side, alongside systems from KV2, TW Audio and Verity.

Massaccesi also presented a technical seminar scheduled by Prolight + Sound as part of the show’s technical program, explaining the benefits of the technologies behind the Axiom loudspeaker range – including the transmission line back loading techniques used in Axiom line arrays to reduce the level of bass frequencies on a concert stage, and at the rear of the speaker hangs. Further topics in the presentation covered the advantages and different usages of ground stacked versus flown subwoofers; and a focus on the use of the ultra-compact ED23P and ED25P passive loudspeakers in specific applications such as front fill, under-balcony, delay speaker, and in distributed systems.

“We’ve had many visitors to the booth this year and a lot of interest in our brands and products,” said Phoenix Audio director Chris Zhang. “Many clients and experts commented on how good the Axiom outdoor demo sounded, particularly in the low-mid and low frequencies.

“We focused this year on presenting Axiom to customers as an independent brand of Proel, with prominently displayed brand identity and a newly designed Axiom brochure. With our efforts and support from the factory I believe Axiom’s brand image is growing step by step in China.”

“Prolight and Sound has been a great show for us, and important in helping to make our products, especially our Axiom brand loudspeaker systems, more available to customers in China and the Asian region,” said export sales manager Gabriella di Giminiani. “It has been a good opportunity to meet new customers, listen to what they need from us as a manufacturer, and show them our highly competitive line array and point source loudspeaker systems.”
