Proel took advantage of the sweeping changes that have taken place this year to the format of the Prolight + Sound exhibition in Frankfurt, to showcase new products from the Axiom professional loudspeaker ranges, and also in the field of advanced voice alarm systems. Marking its 25th Anniversary year and as part of its biggest trade show investment to date, Proel exhibited professional audio products in Hall 3.1, as well as its Sagitter professional lighting products in Hall 5.0, and also the new Dexibell digital piano in Hall 9.0.

All eyes were on the new AX800A compact powered line array that is aimed at PA rental companies working with medium sized indoor and outdoor events, small festivals, and corporate events; and a wide range of permanent sound reinforcement installations including bars, small clubs, houses of worship, theatres, live music venues and sports facilities. Shown for the first time in Frankfurt, the AX800A consists of two 8-inch woofers, transmission line back loaded for clean mid-bass and natural cardioid behaviour, and a 1.4-inch high frequency compression driver on a transmission line HF wave-forming device. Its Class D amplifier module with switchmode power supply provides optimum power to the drive units, and delivers superior definition at all frequencies. The AX800A partners with the double 18-inch SW1800A powered subwoofer in a recommended 4:1 ratio.

Also featured on the Proel booth were the flagship AX2010A dual 10-inch powered line array with the new SW36XFA Tetracoil-equipped dual 18-inch powered subwoofer; the AX2065A compact powered line array with SW215A dual 15-inch powered subwoofer; and selected models from the ED series of passive loudspeakers.

Marketing director Fulvio Pesenti commented that while the greater separation between Prolight+Sound and MusikMesse may have brought in a higher quality of visitors to Hall 3, the split meant that resources were stretched over three halls. "Because we are showing the new AX800A compact line array for the first time in Frankfurt I think we have attracted some new customers and created several new distribution opportunities for the Axiom brand, thanks to the product's much wider appeal at all levels of sound reinforcement," he says. "The response to the AX800A on our Axiom Facebook page and to the videos on our YouTube channel have been quite phenomenal. PA rental companies, corporate clients, and a wide range of permanent installations will benefit from the AX800A's stylish design, powered functionality, ease of use, and superb sound quality."
