Bright Group Finland, Proel's distributor for its Axiom professional loudspeaker brand, held an open day in September, with many brands represented from the various industry sectors of video, lighting, and audio including dpa microphones, Shure, Midas consoles and Proel's Axiom loudspeakers.
The open day event attracted over 80 people from all over southern Finland and many different areas of professional audio and lighting, including sound engineers, technicians, rental companies, as well as theatre and concert hall technical managers. It was held at the Event Centre Koskenranta restaurant and conference centre on the banks of Vanhankaupunginkoski (Old City rapids), the site of the original settlement of Helsinki. The agenda for the day included technical presentations from the represented brands as well as a small format product exhibition.
Proel's technical sales support engineer Daniele Massaccesi gave a presentation on the history of the Axiom loudspeaker brand and its products and technologies, and the newest product in the range – the AX800A compact powered line array. Designed for live shows where a big response is needed from a compact system and for fixed installations requiring a cost effective and high performance system, the AX800A is very easy to set up, lightweight, and easy to transport.
The AX800A features two transmission line back-loaded 8-inch low frequency drivers and a 1.4-inch exit (2.5-inch voice coil) high frequency compression driver in a moulded polypropylene enclosure, and is powered by the same DA series Class D switchmode amplifier module used in many of the other powered Axiom loudspeaker products, and in this configuration it is optimised to deliver 900 watts to both LF drivers and 200 watts to the compression driver, delivering 132dB maximum SPL with a frequency range of 85Hz to 16.8kHz over a horizontal coverage angle of 100°.

Thanks to our marketing efforts and the fantastic technical support from Proel for this demonstration day the Axiom brand is now firmly on the map and brand awareness is surely increasing day by day."
