Every year, the Kentucky Derby, the historic horse race which started in 1875, catalyses the attention of the public and celebrities of the world of music, entertainment and sport. As in past editions, the Proel sound had a prominent role also in the 139th edition this year, in the many events organised for the occasion, thanks to Sounds Unlimited Productions, a company that has relied on Proel systems since 2009 for installations and organisation of events. For the live broadcast by NBC SPORTS of the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs, and at the award ceremony of the Run of the Roses, which the derby has been nicknamed because of the roses that the winner gets covered in, FLASH12HA speakers were used, systems that can provide powerful and extended bass and clear and accurate treble along with superb definition of the vocal range and a 20 Channel M20USB audio Mixer.
At the "Taste of Derby" event on May 2, held at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Centre, about 1500 guests poured out on the "Road to the Derby" which for the occasion was offering food and spirits from around the world, as well as entertainment by the band Memphis Soul Review. The location of the event was a really large space and therefore difficult in terms of acoustics which thanks to the PROEL AXIOM system used, was able to offer excellent sound quality and optimum sound performance. The AXIOM system consisting of 6 EDGE elements and subwoofers per side, 8 monitors from the Extreme series and two FLASH12HA for front coverage, impressed participants and technicians. On another stage, two 600W FLASH15HA speakers were used for the Creekstone Challenge.
The 25th edition of the "Barnstable Brown Gala", an event of great attraction for celebrities, is dedicated to raising funds for diabetes research. Sounds Unlimited Productions has been collaborating for about a decade in the set up of this event obtaining excellent results, often using Proel systems that provided the perfect audio background for the huge crowd that came for the stars. This year Sounds Unlimited Productions was also responsible for the audio of the main stage, using the Proel NEOS system, with 2 NEOS152 cabinets and a NEOS218 subwoofer on each side of the stage. The result was incredible! Not only were the performers surprised by the purity of the monitors, but the same celebrities present felt a marked improvement in the sound department compared with previous years. Even the organisers were able to see that a clean and easy sound was crucial to the success of the event. The performers at the 2013 edition of "Barnstable Brown Gala" included: Kid Rock, Miranda Lambert, Travis Tritt, Joey Fatone, Smokey Robinson, DMC, Morris Day, Clay Walker, Kix Brooks, Freddie Jackson, Jennifer Holliday, Mark "Sparky" Matejka, Taylor Dane, Johnny Gill and many others. Even celebrities such as Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Clay Mathews III, Emilio Estevez, Jason Biggs, Matt Schaub, Wes Welker, Terry O'Quin and many others.
Sounds Unlimited Productions, LLC was created in 1997 from a partnership between Chris Hughes and Brent Rogers who from the outset sought to bring a high level of professionalism and style into the market. Over the years the company increased its production in parallel with the Dj Service, which made it possible to set up very large events. In 2007, Sounds Unlimited Productions participated in a nationwide tour with client companies which to today has resulted in them having worked in 18 U.S. states. In 2009 they moved to a 7,500 square metre facility which housed not only the company but also a professional demo area and a spacious conference room.
Quality service results from having quality partners and so Sounds Unlimited Productions started to search for high quality suppliers. This led to the partnership with Proel in 2009. The sound quality of Proel speakers impressed their team from the very beginning. In 2010, the U.S. company began to use the NEOS Series and 2013 has been the year of the Array Axiom Line.
